The Magnetic Reed Switch Sensor Module is designed to close a circuit in the presence of a magnetic field, offering a contactless On/Off switching solution. This makes it ideal for applications where direct physical contact is not feasible or desirable, such as in security systems, automation, and position sensing. Although reed switches are versatile, they can be fragile and challenging to handle directly. This module simplifies the process by making the sensor easier to mount and use in various applications.
The module features a simple, small-sized design that is easy to control. It consists of a sealed glass envelope containing two ferrous elastic reeds and an inert gas, often rhodium. When a magnetic field is applied, the reeds inside the switch attract each other and close the circuit. When the magnetic field is removed, the reeds separate, and the switch opens. This reliable on/off switching mechanism makes the Magnetic Reed Switch Sensor Module a practical choice for many electronic and mechanical systems.
