The ACS712 5A Range Current Sensor Module is engineered with a precise, low-offset, linear Hall circuit, paired with a copper conduction path situated near the surface of the sensor die. When current flows through this copper path, it generates a magnetic field. The Hall Effect Integrated Circuit (IC) then converts this magnetic field into a proportional voltage signal.
Monitoring and controlling current flow is crucial across a range of applications, including over-current protection circuits, battery chargers, switching mode power supplies, digital watt meters, and programmable current sources. The ACS712 sensor module, which forms the core of this current sensor, is capable of accurately detecting both AC and DC currents.
The module supports a maximum current detection range of up to 5A. Current values are converted into an analog voltage that can be easily read through the analog I/O port of an Arduino or other microcontroller. This makes it a versatile and valuable tool for various electronic and electrical monitoring tasks.
