The KY-005 38KHz Infrared Transmit Sensor Module is a compact and versatile electronic device designed to emit infrared (IR) signals modulated at a frequency of 38,000 cycles per second (38KHz). This modulation frequency is widely used in infrared communication protocols, ensuring compatibility with various consumer electronics and industrial applications requiring reliable remote control and proximity sensing capabilities.
It directly converts electrical energy into near-infrared light, which is not visible to the human eye, and emits radiation, primarily utilized in various photoelectric switches and remote transmission circuits. Structurally similar to a standard light-emitting diode, the infrared transmitting tube employs different semiconductor materials. Typically, gallium arsenide (GaAs), aluminum gallium arsenic (GaAlAs), and other materials are used, encapsulated in transparent or light blue, black resin.
