The MQ-3 Alcohol Ethanol Detection Sensor Module is user-friendly and effective for detecting alcohol in the air. This module uses the MQ-3 sensor, which is specifically designed to sense alcohol and simplifies the connection process with standard 4 x 0.1″ header pins. This setup eliminates the hassle of dealing with complex pin arrangements.
The module provides both analog and digital outputs. The analog output gives a continuous signal that represents the alcohol concentration in the air, while the digital output offers a binary signal based on a customizable threshold. You can adjust this threshold using an onboard potentiometer, allowing you to set the level at which the digital output is triggered.
Simply power the module with 5V, set the threshold, and you can start monitoring alcohol levels. An onboard LED lights up when alcohol is detected, similar to a breathalyzer. The digital output is easily connected to microcontrollers and other circuits, while the analog output can be hooked up to an ADC on a microcontroller for detailed sensor readings. This versatility makes the MQ-3 module ideal for various alcohol detection applications.
