Description

The GY-BMP280-3.3V Barometric Pressure Sensor Module is a versatile breakout board featuring the Bosch Sensortec ME280 sensor, which measures temperature, humidity, and pressure. This advanced sensor includes selectable I2C address jumpers (solder link GS2), I2C pull-up resistors, a 7-pin 2.54mm header, and two 3.5mm mounting holes for easy installation.

The BME280 is a significant upgrade from earlier models like the BMP085, BMP180, and BMP183, offering enhanced environmental sensing capabilities. It measures temperature, barometric pressure, and humidity, making it ideal for applications such as weather monitoring and environmental data collection. The sensor supports both I2C and SPI communication protocols, providing flexibility for integration into various projects.

With impressive absolute accuracy of ±1 hPa for pressure and ±1.0°C for temperature, the BME280 can also serve as an altimeter with ±1 meter accuracy. Its low altitude noise of just 0.25m and quick conversion time improve usability, making it suitable for both hobbyist and professional applications. For straightforward wiring, I2C is recommended, while SPI is beneficial for connecting multiple sensors without address collisions, ensuring smooth integration into your systems.

  • 0.1 uA in sleep mode
  • Operating range -40…+85 C, 0…100 % rel. humidity, 300…1100 hPa- Humidity sensor and pressure sensor can be independently enabled/disabled
