The MPU9255 9-Axis Attitude Gyro Accelerator Magnetometer Sensor Module is a high-performance motion tracking module ideal for robotics, drones, wearable devices, and embedded electronics projects. This advanced module features the MPU9255, a multi-chip module (MCM) that integrates two dies into a single compact QFN package. One die houses a 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, while the other die contains the AK8963 3-axis magnetometer, resulting in a full 9-axis motion tracking solution. With an integrated Digital Motion Processor (DMP), the MPU9255 provides precise orientation, acceleration, and rotation data in real time, making it perfect for motion-sensing applications.
The module communicates via I2C, with a default address of 0x68, or 0x69 if the AD0 pin is pulled high. It also includes an embedded temperature sensor to compensate for environmental changes, enhancing accuracy. The MPU9255 module is designed for ease of integration, featuring pull-up resistors on the SDA, SCL, and nCS lines, pull-down resistors on the FSYNC and AD0 lines, and an onboard 3.3V voltage regulator. This allows it to be powered directly from 5V sources such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontrollers. For 3.3V operation, a simple solder jumper can bypass the regulator for direct low-voltage operation.
