Raindrops Detection Sensor Module with 5V Relay Module is an advanced device designed for detecting rain and measuring rainfall intensity. It is highly versatile and suitable for various weather monitoring applications, translating rain measurements into both fixed and analog output signals. This flexibility allows it to be integrated into diverse systems for precise weather data collection.

The sensor includes a printed circuit board (PCB) that captures raindrops. As rainwater accumulates on the PCB, it creates parallel resistance paths, which are then measured by an operational amplifier (op-amp). The relationship is straightforward: more water reduces resistance, leading to a lower voltage output, while less water results in higher resistance and increased voltage. For instance, a completely dry board will produce a voltage of 5V.

This module is particularly useful in robotics kits, where it can be combined with rain and humidity sensors to monitor environmental conditions. It features relay outputs capable of controlling motors and other devices, allowing for automated responses such as starting or shutting down machinery based on detected moisture levels.

Constructed from high-quality, double-sided FR-04 material with a nickel-coated surface, the sensor is designed for durability and reliable performance. With a sizable area of 5.0 x 4.0 cm, it offers excellent resistance to oxidation and high electrical conductivity. The module includes a 5V relay for load control and allows for sensitivity adjustments, enabling precise control of relay activation based on humidity levels. When powered, the sensor’s indicator light will turn on. If there is no water detected, the relays and switches will remain inactive, and the indicator lights will not be illuminated. When water is present, the system will react accordingly, controlling the relays and equipment as needed.
