The KY-025 Dry Reed Pipe Module is an electrical switch composed of two ferrous metal reeds contained within a glass tube. It operates based on the presence of a magnetic field. When exposed to a magnetic field, the reeds inside the switch are attracted to each other and close, completing the circuit. Conversely, when the magnetic field is removed, the reeds separate, causing the switch to open.
This non-contact switching mechanism makes the Reed switch ideal for various applications. It is widely used in devices such as PBX systems, photocopiers, washing machines, refrigerators, cameras, and disinfection cabinets. Additionally, Reed switches are utilized in door and window security systems, electromagnetic relays, electronic weighing scales, level meters, gas meters, and water meters, among other applications.
