The DS1302 RTC Real Time Clock Module with CR2032 Battery, developed by DALLAS Semiconductor, features a low-power real-time clock (RTC) and 31 bytes of static RAM. It communicates with microcontrollers via a simple serial interface, making integration straightforward. The module tracks seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years, and adjusts automatically for month lengths and leap years. It supports both 12-hour and 24-hour formats.
Communication with the DS1302 is done through three lines: RST (reset), I/O (data), and SCLK (serial clock). It can read and write single bytes or up to 31 bytes of data. The module consumes less than 1mW to maintain the clock and data.
For wiring, connect the DS1302 as follows:
– VCC: +5V or +3.3V
– GND: Ground
– CLK: Microcontroller pin (e.g., P02)
– DAT: Microcontroller pin (e.g., P01)
– RST: Microcontroller pin (e.g., P00)
Pin assignments can be adjusted as needed.
Note:
- VCC and GND do not reverse, so as not to burn the chip
- 51 SCM P0 port to receive a pull-up resistor, if your computer is not connected pull-up resistor, the data can be the string to the other port.
Features :
- The real-time clock counts minutes, seconds, date, hours, month day of the week, year and leap-year compensation up to 2100.
- 318 temporary data storage RAM
- Working current of 2.0V, less than 300nA
- Read / Write clock or RAM data with two kinds of mode of single-byte transfer mode and multi-byte character set
- 8 pin DIP package or optional 8 pin SOIC package based on the surface assembly
- Simple 3 wire interface
- Compatible with TTL Vcc=5V
- Double power supply pipe for main power and backup power supply.
