The KY-010 Broken Light Module is a sophisticated sensor designed to detect the presence of objects by using optical interruption. It features an optical emitter and detector positioned at the front of the module, which work together to create a light beam across a designated path. This beam of light is emitted by the LED and received by the phototransistor.
The module includes two resistors—1 kΩ and 33 Ω—located at the back, which are crucial for calibrating and stabilizing the sensor’s performance. When an opaque object obstructs the path between the emitter and the detector, it blocks the light beam, triggering a change in the sensor’s output. This disruption can be detected and measured, allowing the KY-010 to be used for various applications such as object counting, positioning, and detection in both industrial and consumer electronics. Its reliable performance and simplicity make it an essential component in many automation and control systems.
