This 7Semi VL53L1X ToF Breakout features the cutting-edge VL53L1X ToF (Time of Flight) sensor module, representing the next generation in distance measurement technology. The VL53L1X, a laser-ranging sensor, stands out as the fastest miniature ToF sensor available, boasting accurate ranging capabilities up to 4 meters and a swift ranging frequency of up to 50 Hz. Encased in a compact, reflowable package, it incorporates a SPAD receiving array, a 940 nm invisible Class1 laser emitter, physical infrared filters, and optics to optimize ranging performance across various ambient lighting conditions, offering a range of cover window options. In contrast to traditional IR sensors, the VL53L1X employs ST’s latest ToF technology, enabling absolute distance measurement regardless of the target’s color and reflectance.
The VL53L1X has a hardware-defined I2C address of 0x29, necessitating a multiplexer/Mux for communication with multiple VL53L1X sensors on a single bus.
