The MSP-EXP430FR2355 LaunchPad™ Development Kit is a compact and cost-effective evaluation module designed for rapid development with the MSP430FR2355 Value Line microcontroller. Tailored for engineers and developers focused on ultra-low-power embedded applications, this LaunchPad provides all the necessary hardware to get started—making it an excellent choice for prototyping sensor interfaces, analog signal processing, and data acquisition applications.
Equipped with an on-board debug probe, the kit supports seamless programming, debugging, and real-time energy measurements without needing any external tools. It features two push buttons, two user-controllable LEDs, an ambient light sensor, and external analog signal connectors, creating a flexible interface to experiment with real-world signals.
At the heart of this board lies the MSP430FR2355 MCU, which combines 32KB of ultra-low-power embedded FRAM and 4KB of SRAM. FRAM offers non-volatile memory with high write endurance, fast access speeds, and low energy usage—perfect for data logging or portable monitoring devices. Developers can dynamically allocate memory between code and data based on the application’s requirements.
A unique strength of this MCU is the Smart Analog Combo: a suite of configurable signal chain elements including 12-bit DACs, PGAs, a 12-bit ADC, and two enhanced comparators (eCOMPs). These features allow seamless connection to various analog sensors and precise analog signal conditioning without external circuitry. An out-of-the-box GUI demo is provided to showcase the analog combo’s functionality.
With support for 24 MHz operation, ultra-low power modes, and BoosterPack™ plug-in module compatibility, the MSP-EXP430FR2355 LaunchPad™ is ideal for battery-powered, energy-constrained designs.
