The MSP-EXP430FR2311 Development Kit is a compact, affordable, and versatile development platform designed for engineers and developers working with ultra-low-power embedded applications. Built to support MSP430FR2000, MSP430FR21xx, and MSP430FR23xx microcontrollers, this kit is perfect for quick prototyping and development of sensor-based, industrial, or IoT solutions.
At its core is the MSP430FR2311 MCU, the world’s first microcontroller to feature a configurable low-leakage transimpedance amplifier (TIA)—with a leakage as low as 50 pA, making it ideal for ultra-low-current sensing. The MCU is equipped with 4KB of embedded FRAM (Ferroelectric RAM), offering fast write speeds, non-volatility, and high endurance—key features for energy-efficient data logging and long-life embedded systems.
The development board features an on-board debug probe, eliminating the need for external tools. This allows for seamless programming, debugging, and real-time energy measurement. The board also includes two programmable buttons, LED indicators, and an optical sensor interface—making it easy to create and test user interfaces and light-based sensing applications.
To get started right away, the kit comes preloaded with demo code to test light intensity sensing and op-amp functionality using the integrated analog components. The MCU also includes a built-in operational amplifier, comparator, and ADC, enabling a wide range of analog applications.
Expand your design effortlessly using the 20-pin BoosterPack™ headers, which provide compatibility with TI’s BoosterPack ecosystem. You can easily connect wireless communication modules, graphical displays, or environmental sensors to scale your project further.
Whether you’re a student, hobbyist, or professional developer, the MSP-EXP430FR2311 LaunchPad offers a cost-effective and powerful solution for designing next-generation low-power sensing applications.
